They are the full-size vans with the professional-grade strength and capacities: Savana Passenger and Cargo Vans. For starters, the capacities are nothing short of colossal. There's seating for up 15 on Passenger Vans. And Cargo Vans offer up to 8972 L (316.8 cu. ft.) of cargo space and load floor lengths of up to 3658 mm (12'). The engine lineup is just as formidable, with a 295 Vortec 5.3L V8 standard on 1500 Passenger Vans, and an awesomely powerful Duramax 6.6L Diesel V8 engine available in Cargo Vans that produces a prodigious 250 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Not that power and capacity alone define these vans - technological advantages are numerous, including segment-exclusive available all-wheel drive. The van with the professional work ethic: GMC Savana.
A Different Kind Of Flexibility
New for 2007, a FlexFuel Vortec 5.3L V8 is available on both 1500 Passenger and Cargo Vans. This 295 hp engine can run on regular unleaded gasoline or on E85 - a mix of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. E85 is a renewable fuel made from bio-material, helping reduce carbon dioxide emissions, decreasing greenhouse gases and our dependence on petroleum.
A Professional Approach To Access
The cavernous capacities of Savana Cargo Vans are made that much easier to load and unload, thanks to the available Savana Pro Package. It features three side access panels and a remote release fob. Another way of enhancing access is through the segment-exclusive available 60/40 swing-out hinged driver's side loading door. It opens up to payloads of up to 1881 kg (4147 lb.).
Greater Stability - Greater Control
The StabiliTrak™ vehicle stability enhancement system continuously monitors steering angle, wheel speeds, brake pressure and lateral acceleration. If the system detects a lateral skid, StabiliTrak intervenes by adjusting brake pressure and engine power to help return Savana to your intended driving line. Standard on Savana 3500 Passenger Vans.
